Get Involved... Join In...
Help celebrate Earth Hour 2014 by joining with your neighbors, business owners and Village officials on March 29 as we join people around the world and “turn off non- essential lights for 1 hour! This event is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund and is the world's largest single campaign for a better future for the planet. “Building a future in which people live in harmony with nature”.

Light Pollution Effects
The Homer Glen Village Board passed a resolution in support of Earth Hour, realizing that the night sky is a natural resource and that light pollution interferes with that resource and is becoming a growing problem around the world. By joining in with people worldwide, business owners, village officials and your neighbors, you can make a difference. Turning off non-essential lights helps to reduce the affects of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere for 1 hour.
