Village Manager Resigns, Effective July 27

The Village of Homer Glen's Village Manager, Michael Mertens, has advised the Mayor and Village Board that he will be resigning as Village Manager for personal reasons, effective July 27, 2018. Mr. Mertens thanked the Village Board for the great opportunity to serve the community. Together, with the leadership of the Village Board and the highly dedicated Village staff, the Village has accomplished a great number of things over these two plus years. “ I am proud that we were able to streamline our development process, strengthen our Intergovernmental partnerships, expand our water, sewer and storm water utilities and continue to develop our park and trail systems. The Village of Homer Glen is a great community to live in, establish a business in and work for and its future is even brighter,” stated Mr. Mertens.

The Village of Homer Glen thanks Michael Mertens for his service and wishes him well in his future endeavors.  The Village Board will begin a search for a new executive to lead the Village in the future.
