Village Hall_square

At the direction of Governor Pritzker (Executive Order #2020-18) the Village Hall will be closed through the month of April. This means Village Hall is not open to the public.  This is for the protection of our staff and the public. All police administration and non-emergency calls should be directed to the Will County Sheriff’s Department at (708) 301-9274.  For emergencies, call 9-1-1.  The Will County Sheriff’s Department personnel will continue to respond to service calls and patrol the Village of Homer Glen, as they do currently under our existing contract.

Essential employees will continue to monitor our Village Facilities and Parks.  Departmental general email boxes and voice mail messages are being monitored and responded to, based upon priority. Non-essential employees are working remotely from home. Please note that Village Hall phones are not being answered; however, you can leave a message at (708) 301-0632. All messages will be returned. Departmental general email boxes are as follows:

Village Website and Social Media Posts

The Village will continue to provide public updates and information via our website – and our Facebook page @villageofhomerglen. Our residents and businesses are strongly encouraged to follow these official public sites, as this is where credible public governmental information will be posted. There are many social media sites that are not factual and are not providing credible information to assist our local community. Our commitment is to provide the most credible, up-to-date information as it becomes available. Check these sites on a daily basis! If you’d like to sign up for email news alerts from the Village, click here.

We have also partnered with all of our first responders (Homer Fire District, Northwest Homer Fire District, Homer Township Highway Department, Village of Homer Glen EMA, and the Will County Sheriff’s Department), and we are jointly using the Village website to convey important information to the Homer Glen community. Please help us share this important information during these difficult times with the entire Homer Glen community.

Village Board Meetings

Per the Governor’s Executive Order No. 5, issued on March 16, 2020, the Village Board will conduct necessary Village business remotely for the regularly scheduled board meeting on April 8, 2020. The public agenda packet will be posted on the Village’s website. Public minutes of the meeting will still be taken and shared with the public. The proposed FY21 Village budget is also be posted on the Village website for public review. The Village’s current fiscal year budget expires April 30, 2020. A public hearing for the proposed FY21 Village Budget is being held on April 8, 2020, during the Village Board meeting. The Village Hall will be open to the public for this meeting.  All attendees will be required to enter through the west doors, wash their hands, and adhere to social distancing requirements.

Small Business Assistance – Keeping the Lights on!

The Village Board has approved a Small Business Assistance program for our locally owned businesses.  Details of the program can be found on the Business Resources page.

Homer Glen Proud!

Since 2001, our community has stood proudly together.  We worked together to become the town we are today and we will continue to work together, as we face these difficult times together! The Mayor continues to check on our senior housing complexes. We need you all to check on your senior neighbors, while still following the mandated social distancing requirements.  Keep your families safe and be kind to everyone.  A special thank you to our first responders and grocery store workers who are still out there making sure we receive the best possible services in these difficult times.  We are proud of Homer Glen and thank you all for your support and assistance.
