Will County Projects

- Will County has begun work on its Bell Road Widening program. The widening of Bell Road will be split into three contracts, 159th to 151st, 151st to 143rd, and a project at the intersection of Bell Road and 143rd Street.

- The widening of Bell Road from 159th to 151st Street has been awarded and construction will begin in Spring/Summer of 2023 pending the completion of utility relocation which already has begun.

- All Bell Road widening projects will utilize staged construction and will shift traffic to the East and West halves of Bell Road as the project progress. During its staged construction, businesses on the East side of Bell Road will only be accessible via Northbound lanes and businesses on the West side of Bell Road will only be accessible via Southbound lanes. All appropriate signage and driveway entrances will be established and maintained throughout construction.

- The final configuration and improvement for Bell Road will provide two lanes of traffic in both the Northbound and Southbound directions and a raised center median and dedicated turning lanes throughout.

- Local businesses will remain open throughout construction and will appreciate your support!

Please contact the engineering department with any questions you may have regarding the Bell Road projects.
