Nonprofit Organizations

The Village of Homer Glen recently provided donations to both the South Suburban Housing Center (SSHC) and the Will County Center for Community Concerns (WCCCC). These nonprofit organizations provide housing counseling, employment support, home energy assistance and other programs to help residents of the south suburbs and Will County.

Housing Programs

The South Suburban Housing Center was established in 1975 and provides:

  • Fair housing enforcement programs
  • Foreclosure assistance
  • Housing counseling for residents in the south suburbs

The organization has partnered with private and governmental entities in the south suburbs to aid in foreclosure recovery efforts and housing grant assistance. For more information on the South Suburban Housing Center, please visit their website.

Center for Community Concerns

The Will County Center for Community Concerns was established in 1987 and provides support for low income families and individuals in Will County. The center assists in:

  • Home energy assistance
  • Home repair and modifications
  • Homeless prevention services
  • Housing counseling
