Snow Removal & Parking
Winter Parking Ban - October 1 to May 1
- Per Village Code 200-22, all vehicles must be off of the roadway once two inches of snow has fallen and remain off of the roadway within the twelve-hour period immediately following such snowfall, unless the street or road in question has been cleared of snow.
- The only exceptions to this parking ordinance are emergency vehicles, law enforcement and snow removal vehicles parked while in performance of its duties.
- If your vehicle is found to be illegally parked it may be towed and/or a ticket will be issued. The fines are a minimum of $100 to $250. Reference Ordinance No. 08-006 (PDF).
- If ice/slick conditions are present where salt treatment is required please make an effort to remove your vehicles from the roadway. The Public Work trucks will not be able to salt if vehicles are parked on the roadway.
Garbage Cans
Please be sure your garbage containers are placed well back from the curb on your garbage pick-up day, before the waste hauler and snowplow have come.
