Early voting starts today, and the campaign season is in full swing. When planting a new political sign, please be aware of Village signage regulations under section 1005 of the Village Code. Signs should be placed on private property only. Signs are not permitted in the public right-of-way, which is the area commonly found between the street and the sidewalk. On roads without sidewalks, the right-of-way is typically found on the street side of the drainage ditch or utility lines. The Village code compliance officer will remove signs that are placed in the public right-of-way. Signs that have been picked up may be retrieved from the Village office.
