UPDATE (03/14/17): At approximately 1:00 pm Sheriff's detectives located a person of interest at the Hi-Way Motel, 159th and Central Park in Markham, IL . Deputies had recovered the stolen vehicle, a 2015 Chrysler 200, earlier today in Robbins and were in communication with area police departments that led to the arrest. The subject is being transported to the Will County Sheriff's Office where charges are pending. Sheriff's detectives are working with Oak Forest Police regarding possible charges for this subject. Oak Forest PD believe the subject may be involved in a similar armed robbery that occurred in their jurisdiction.
ORIGINAL NOTICE (03/14/17): On Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at approximately 5:20 AM the Will County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Speedway Gas Station at 15060 S. Bell Rd. Homer Glen.
A white male subject entered the gas station and displayed a shot gun and demanded money. The suspect struck the employee and took an undetermined amount of cash as well as a purse from another customer that was in the store at the time. As the suspect fled the scene he lost control of his vehicle and got in an accident at 151st Street and Bell Rd, Homer Glen. The suspect returned to the gas station and took a vehicle from a customer pumping gas after displaying a gun. The suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. Information that has been received indicates that the suspect is out of the area and there is no immediate threat to the surrounding area. The Will County Sheriff’s Office is continuing investigation at this time.
