At the Village Board meeting on March 11, 2020, Trustee Brian Burian announced that he will be resigning as trustee. Trustee Burian recently accepted a new position as Chief of Staff in the Illinois State Senate. Due to the scheduling requirements of the position, Trustee Burian stated that Homer Glen deserves someone that can continue representing their interests and attend meetings over the next several months.
With the resignation of Trustee Brian Burian from the Village Board of Trustees, Mayor Yukich, with the concurrence of the Village Trustees, will be appointing a new trustee to serve the remaining term of the office, until May 2021. The Village of Homer Glen is accepting resumes for this trustee vacancy, until March 27, 2020. Interested residents of Homer Glen should send their resumes, along with a cover letter, to the Village Manager, Karie Friling at 14240 W. 151st Street; Homer Glen, Illinois 60491 or email to kfriling@homerglenil.org. The Mayor and the Village Board will review the submittals prior to the new appointment.
The entire Village Board, along with Village staff, thanks Trustee Burian for his public service to the Village of Homer Glen over the past five years. The Homer Glen community is a better place due to his service.
