For the next few weeks our community has the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. October 24th is a national day of community service, Make A Difference Day, where millions of volunteers across the nation unite with one common mission-to improve the lives of others. This year the Homer Glen Junior Women's Club will be celebrating this day by supporting the food pantry that services Lockport and Homer Township with the theme "Neighbors Helping Neighbors".
YOU can help YOUR neighbors by donating non-perishable items to the collections bins located at our local Homer Glen Jewel and Big "R" stores as well as the Village of Homer Glen's offices between now and October 24th.
If you are unable to make it to any of these locations between now and the 24th, please send Beth Rodgers an email at brodgers@homerglen.org or call the village office at 708-301-0632, with your address and she will be happy to come by and pick up the items.
No one should ever go to school, to work or to bed hungry. Please take part in this community event if you are able and help Make A Difference in people's lives.
