As Of 9:00 AM today (September 6), 159th Street was closed from Parker Road to Cedar Road due to a gas leak. The leak is located on the south side of the road just east of Garden Patch Farms.
All through traffic is being routed to 151st Street via Parker and Cedar Roads. Access to Messenger Circle and Glenview Walk will be from 159th and Cedar Roads. Access to Stonebidge Woods, Marian Village, BI Rental, Tee Time Golf Range and the Colonial Manor Vet Clinic will be from 159th and Parker Roads.
159th Street will remain closed until the leak is repaired. Nicor is projecting a 12 to 16 hour time frame to complete the repair. This means the 159th Street will not be open until the overnight hours. We are hoping to have the repair complete in time for the Wednesday morning traffic.
