[ARCHIVED] Chickasaw Hills Update

Friday 8/23/2019

The curbs have been poured, back filled and the forms have been removed.

Everyone should have access to their driveways by this weekend.

Weather permitting, PT Ferro will begin grinding out the existing asphalt pavement on Monday morning. They plan to have all the asphalt removed in two or three days. PT Ferro plans on creating gravel ramps to allow residents access to their driveways throughout the rest of this entire project wherever possible.

Residents can not park on the street during this phase, we need access to the entire road during these next few procedures.

Once all the asphalt has been removed, we will inspect and test the road base for integrity. Hopefully the road base will not require any fortification.

Once the road base has passed inspection, PT Ferro will begin paving. There are two main courses of asphalt that will be applied; a 2 1/2 inch "base" layer followed by a 1 3/4 inch "finish" layer. There will be a coat of liquid asphalt applied prior to each layer of pavement. If residents find it necessary to drive on this liquid asphalt they should drive SLOWLY to eliminate "spraying" the tar-like liquid on to their vehicles. They should also refrain from driving on the liquid asphalt and then pull into their driveways. This will leave black tire tracks that will take years to dissipate. This is especially true on concrete and paver driveways.

All residents should have access to their driveways throughout the Labor Day Weekend.

We plan to finish this project by September 11th., weather permitting.

Once the paving is complete, we will return to address those driveways that were not corrected with the project. There is a "Curb Adjustment Request" form at the office that can be filled out by residents.

Residents with questions regarding this project can call us directly.
