“There continues to be good news regarding economic development and business start-ups in Homer Glen,” stated Homer Glen Mayor Jim Daley. In addition to the new Big R store and others, five new commercial leases have been signed with businesses preparing to open in the Homer Glen community.
“The Village of Homer Glen continues to bounce back from the recession in terms of a business resurgence and an increase in residential growth while still maintaining our rural charm,” stated Mayor Daley. “With more rooftops and the advent of the expansion of the 159th St. Corridor, Homer Glen is a prime location for businesses and families to call home,” continued Mayor Daley. The following businesses will be welcome additions to the Village of Homer Glen.
• Sub Hub is preparing to open in the former Subway space at Grove Valley Center. The former Subway space presented Raji Haleem, the new owner of Homer’s Café, with a turn-key opportunity he could not pass up. Mr. Haleem, a Homer Glen resident, has an extensive history of operating successful deli sandwich cafes. He is looking forward to offering a sub and deli sandwich menu to complement his current operation at Homer’s Café.
• Verizon, with retail cellular phone products sales, will invest approximately $30,000, for alterations to the space formerly occupied by Gold Max at Homer Town Square. This new Verizon store anticipates an early summer opening and will actually be relocating within the Homer Town Square Development.
• Farmers Insurance will need to make only minor improvements for their opening at the Mora Building on 159th Street.
