The Presentation and Workshop Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Board Room, 14917 S. Founders Crossing, Homer Glen. The topic will be, “Shaping the Future of Homer Glen for Economic Vitality and Environmental Quality.”
The Village of Homer Glen is holding this special Village Board meeting to hear a presentation by Mr. Pete Pointner, a planning expert who was also instrumental in the development of the Village of Homer Glen’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The Homer Glen Comprehensive Plan sets forth long-range recommendations for future growth and development as well as the maintenance and enhancements of the existing image and character of the community.
Some topics in Mr. Pointer’s presentation will include the following concepts:
• Relating 159th Street development to future land uses
• Update elements of the 2005 Comprehensive Plan to prepare for the future
• How to invigorate the Comprehensive Plan more effectively to achieve local goals
• Actions to attract quality developments
• How examples of commercial land use and natural resources can work together for successful results
• Criteria for evaluating development proposals
