Village & Road District Transfer of Stewardship
The Village of Homer Glen is pursuing the transfer of stewardship from the Homer Township Road District. This transfer will allow the Village to create its own public works department accountable to the residents of Homer Glen. This page will be home to all documents and information regarding the transfer.
Amended and Restated Intergovernmental Agreement between Village of Homer Glen and Homer Township Road District
At the December 9 Village Board Meeting, the Village Board approved of a revised intergovernmental agreement with the Homer Township Road District. The agreement allows for the transfer of stewardship to occur by March 31, 2021.
Lawsuit Filed by Homer Township, Residents and Elected Officials against Village of Homer Glen and Homer Township Road District

Mayor Yukich Press Release
On July 22, 2020 Mayor George Yukich and the Village Board of Trustees, in mutual collaboration with Homer Township Road District Commissioner Mike DeVivo, announce a plan to pursue the transfer of stewardship of the Road District to the Village of Homer Glen. Read the press release here.
Village Board Approves Resolution Declaring Intention to Pursue Transfer of Stewardship
On September 23, the Village Board unanimously approved Resolution No. 009 declaring support for the Village to pursue the transfer of stewardship. The resolution explains the reasons behind the transfer and the legal mechanisms for doing so. The formal approval of any transfer agreements will be voted on in the future.
